Come to Wales for Monster pike

Welsh waters can give specialist Pike anglers many exciting opportunities for exploration. Although it is a mountainous country, Wales can offer excellent Pike fishing to satisfy the most discerning angler wishing to come to grips with this powerful and ferocious fish.
From the bare, silent moorlands of Llyn Aled to the strong currents of the River Wye, Pike waters can be found to suit every possible taste and all are easy of access. Fishing the rocky, tree-lined shores of Bala Lake or Pontsticill Reservoir among spectacular scenery, or watching the sunset from a boat in the pastoral peace of Llangorse Lake, will provide enough pleasant memories of productive angling to last until your next visit to battle with Welsh Pike.

Wye Pike
Nearly every water in the world is rumoured to hold the monster Pike of all time - and it’s no different in Wales, but most anglers will be quite content to catch the occasional 20lb-plus. Where Wales definitely has the edge is in the sheer numbers of fish available, so you should have no problem finding enough to brag about when you return home. Bait is easily obtained; just remember the live variety is frowned upon these days, or usually banned. A dead Rudd or Roach is a good stand-by, though sea baits will probably get you most bites. Mackerel, herring or smelt are all in favour with Welsh Pike.
